Offering Critique What's up, the name's Sci, I haven't made a grammatical error since 2012, I like to nitpick things, and I know so much science it hurts Feel free to ask me if you need help, critiques, etc on anything grammar or science/sci-fi related. Be aware that I will pick apart the placement of every comma, the structure of every sentence, the meaning of every word, because that brings me some sort of sadistic satisfaction. If you need help figuring out some fancy, science-jargon, somewhat plausible-sounding explanation for something weird happening in your book, or spaceship design, or any of that, I'll be glad to offer my assistance. I probably won't have time to look over anything very long though, so I probably won't nitpick anything over 10,000 words- that's what professional editors are for. I'm not all that active on this site (I don't post most of my writing because I hope to have it published someday and because I'm never satisfied with it, and this forum isn't otherwise very active at the moment) so if you want to reach me faster, it would probably be best to @ me or message me on Discord (I'm currently Not The Server Serial Killer in the LW server, but if anything changes, my username/number are butthurt android#6224).

Yo, I'm strongest with grammar, dabble in structure and style, and happy to help with both. My method of critique is an attempt at the good ol' compliment sandwich, so my bite's not too bad; don't worry.
I work best from knowing what you, the author, want looked at, and going from there (e.g. spelling, grammar in general, "this passage feels clunky", expressing yourself - rather than "plz critique"). So I can give a general overview, but it will be less detailed than if you can narrow it down c:

Not currently looking for critique for myself bc I'm a chicken unless you want to be my cheerleader

I'm looking for a Beta reader (Only one page of writing, a few paragraphs), and some critique on it's pacing. It does include some mentions of mental illness and disabilities, and the beginning contains a panic attack. If this could upset you please don't volunteer. Your mental wellness comes first! TIA c:
edit* does contain explicit language in some areas

Offering Critique Hiya! My critique style is more of what Ranger called the compliment sandwich. I try to point out what I think is working, and if there's a thing that doesn't quite work well, then I usually try to suggest a way I would fix it. Generally, first time through is for smol things, and the next one I leave a general comment at the end on how I feel the piece is working. If this sounds like something you could use, go ahead and hmu! >^.^<
((Spokehund, I see you there. Gimme a sec to figure out how PMs work on this site))
Requesting Critique While I'm here, might as well ask for one as well >^.^< It's been absolute ages since I've written anything non-academic in nature, so I'm feeling really rusty and unsure how my quality has held up. If anyone's willing to make sure I'm not rustier than I feel, then I've got a thing about 1200 words I'd like someone to look at, if that's possible. It's for a small competition I found, and if I'm not lyin I kinda fell in love with the character. I greatly appreciate anyone who takes the time >^.^<
